Aisha Buhari gives free health services to 7,000 in Nasarawa


The Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, and wife of the Nasarawa State Governor, Mairo Al-Makura, through their Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO), Future Assured Initiative and Tallafi Women and Youths Foundation have offered free medical services to 7000 women and children in Nasarawa State.

The Wife of the President made this known in Lafia at the flagging off of a three-day free medical exercise embarked upon by the two NGOs.

Aisha who was represented by Mrs. Grace Chama said the free medical service was in continuation of what she had started since the beginning of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

Mrs. Chama maintained that although the exercise was tailored towards the promotion of child and maternal well being, it was not a gender issue but one with collective social development consequences.

According to her, the goal of the exercise is to offer free medical services such as blood sugar test, eye and dental checkup, cancer screening, genotype screening, among others to 3,500 children and 2,500 women across the state.

Aisha further added that in addition to the free health benefits, the exercise in intended to raise awareness of the importance of regular medical checkup.
