Distributing the items in Keffi, Al-Makura said the gesture was part of her Tallafi Foundation commitment to alleviate the suffering of widows and the less privileged in the state.The foodstuff included bags of rice, which were distributed to the beneficiaries.
“I am here to donate and distribute foodstuff, clothing and little cash to the widows in order to improve on their standard of living and to make them happy in the New Year.
“The essence of the donation is also to show love to the widows and to let them know that they are very relevant to the society.
“I urge them not to relent in their efforts in ensuring the upbringing of their children for the benefit of all.
“Over 500 widows from Lafia, Akwanga and Keffi have benefited from this gesture as my New Year gift.
Alhaji Mohammed Dikko, the Executive Chairman, Keffi Local Government, thanked the governor’s wife for the gesture and called on other individuals to emulate her efforts in fighting poverty and hunger in the society.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Rebecca John, thanked Mrs Al-Makura for the gesture.
